Is Tree Planting For You...Probably Not
Our planting operations generally run from early May
to late June or early July. We often acquire planting
work, and more recently spray work, in August/September.
Because of this timing, a large number of our employees
are university and college students, finding tree
planting to be an excellent supplement to their summer
employment choices. We run our jobs from remote bush
camps, with shower and eating facilities, and all are
Ontario Ministry of Health approved. Planters are
responsible for their own tent accommodation.
For those that are suited to this business, tree
planting can be a challenging and rewarding
experience. It can provide financial gain and
opportunities to form lasting friendships.
The work is physically demanding, repetitive and
mind-numbing. The weather is completely
unpredictable and the bugs can be unbearable at
times. Planting day in, day out, the season seems as
though it will never end... Those individuals that
are ambitious and highly motivated can achieve
excellent results for themselves and make great
contributions to our team.
Before you accept a job offer, you must seriously
consider what you are getting into, regardless of
what company you want to work with. If you are
coming tree planting strictly for the experience, or
to just be with your friends who are doing it, then
you are wasting your time and the time of the people
who will work with you. Everyone around you is there
to make money. You should be there to make money. It
is hard work! No, you have not done anything
comparable to it before. Yes, the food is awesome,
and the people are awesome, but the work sucks,
beyond what you could imagine.
If you believe that tree planting is for you, or
would like to know more about what to expect, fill
out and submit our on-line application on the
Employment
page or feel free to call or e-mail us.
